Energy shots and drinks have become a mainstay in athletic preparedness. However, the hype and marketing used to force the consumer to believe that nerve stimulation is energy is deceptive. This practice creates an increased medical concern regarding the long term effects of dangerously high amounts of caffeine, high fructose corn syrup, a nerve damaging overdose of B vitamins and the assumed benefits from amino acid cocktails.
ISO5 Energy Shot combines proven and safe elements that drive your body's natural energy cycle.
RIBOSE: Used to improve athletic performance and the ability to exercise by boosting muscle energy. It is also used to improve symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), fibromyalgia, and coronary artery disease. Ribose is used to prevent symptoms such as cramping, pain, and stiffness after exercise in people with an inherited disorder called myoadenylate deaminase deficiency (MAD) or AMP deaminase deficiency (AMPD deficiency). [1]
L-CARNATINE: 90 to 95% of your body's energy is produced by the mitochondria through a process that uses ATP, the "Holy Grail" of energy. Without ATP, life would not be possible. Natural L-carnitine is an important part of this process. Carnitine acts as a transporter, picking up the fatty acid fuel which flows through your blood plasma, delivering it to the mitochondria. It is here where energy is made. While short and medium chain fatty-acids can enter the mitochondrial membrane by themselves, the long-chain fatty acids need carnitine as a transport vehicle. Without carnitine they cannot make it into the mitochondria. [2,3]
SUPER CITRIMAX: Extracted from the South Asian fruit Garcinia cambogia, Super CitriMax contains standardized levels of hydroxycitric acid (HCA), which is clinically shown to provide satiety, suppress appetite, and inhibit fat production without stimulating the central nervous system. This allows for increased performance during exercise and an elevated mood feeling "afterburn" that lasts longer when exercising follows a fasted state. [4]
GUARANA: As a dietary supplement, guarana is an effective energy booster because it contains about twice the caffeine found in coffee beans (about 2-4.5% caffeine in guarana seeds compared to 1-2% for coffee beans). The Xanthine content of guarana, coupled with the its naturally occurring caffeine is of interest for potential effects on cognition. [5,6,7]
TAMARIND PASTE: Contains a rich supply of naturally occurring antioxidants, Vitamin C, B-vitamins, and phytochemicals.
